On August 2nd, the Provincial Government Information Office held a press conference on the e-commerce development index of Zhejiang Province, and released E-commerce Development Index Comprehensive Evaluation Report of Zhejiang Province in 2015. It is understood that this was the first official release of the e-commerce index of the provincial level. The report showed that Yiwu e-commerce development index reached 404.73, ranking the first among the 90 counties (cities and districts) in Zhejiang Province.

In recent years, e-commerce in Zhejiang Province maintained rapid growth, the level of industrial development significantly increased, the e-commerce application in agriculture, industry, services and other areas had further popularization and deepening, e-commerce supporting system continued to improve, the contribution to social economy has become increasingly prominent. Currently, the development level of the e-commerce in Zhejiang Province stays in the country's leading position, the number of e-commerce services, the number of e-commerce industrial park, the number of specialized e-commerce villages and other indicators all rank the first in the country. In addition, Zhejiang is one of the regions with the earliest domestic e-commerce and the fastest development all kinds of new technologies and new models are the first to appear in Zhejiang. Zhejiang is the only e-commerce statistics pilot province in China, while Yiwu is the country’s first e-commerce statistics pilot county.
